How Not to Handle Employee Complaints

I don’t know if you have seen this, but this video is a great example of all of the horrible qualities that can make you a manager your employees are guaranteed to hate. I like to use this video as an example in my leadership development presentations and programs. Not that I am accusing any of my participants of literally acting this way (even though some managers may come close) it provides great food for thought about how you may be coming across to your employees.
Do you really care about their happiness at work? Do you work to create an environment for them to thrive in? Are you the kind of leader that your employees want to follow? Are they dedicated to your vision? Regardless of the situation, employees can tell when you aren’t sincere. The less you care, oftentimes the less they care.
After you watch this video, look around the site. They are masters of irony and do a great job pointing out a lot of the worst things about corporate environments or life in general. Good for perspective and a good laugh!
