$3B+ Consumer Products Company

A $3B consumer products company needed to improve the effectiveness of their leadership, identify future leaders, and improve their bench strength. We partnered with the leadership team and implemented a succession planning process and system for developing leaders. We helped with identification of future leaders, prepared future leaders, and improved senior leadership effectiveness.

Situation

CEO needed to determine his succession plan for his eventual retirement. Needed to evaluate the top officer group, prepare his slate of candidates for the Board of Directors.  Also wanted to provide leadership training for executive management team and increased collaboration. This expanded into creating a leadership training and development program which assessed most of the Vice Presidents+ in targeted competencies which helped identify benchstrength and other talent needs.

Solutions

Created a management and leadership development training system which has placed 20 officers and more than 40 plant Presidents and Vice Presidents through the process. Continued development of leadership skills for each participant and prepared succession candidates for success in new leadership roles. Created and implemented the first succession planning process for Vice Presidents+.
